You sign in to the accounts you manage. Sonventory reads whatever the platforms give it and writes the results to your Documents folder. No Sonventory account is needed for that.
You sign in to YouTube, TikTok and Instagram in your system browser, through their official interfaces. The app receives a read-only token. Your password stays with the platform, and your video files are not uploaded to Sonventory. Audio signatures are sent to Apple for recognition.
Sonventory prepares short audio excerpts on your Mac. ShazamKit creates signatures locally and sends those signatures to Apple’s music catalogue for matching. No other recognition service is involved.
You add your licence reference to a detected recording. Sonventory stores the text with a timestamp. It never checks it, neither the reference nor the contract behind it.
Per video
Some of it comes from the official platform interfaces, the rest Sonventory works out on your Mac. If a source leaves a field empty, it says so.
The states describe the condition of your records. They do not say whether a use of music was legally permitted.

One viral post drags a channel average out of shape. The median holds. Every result also states the range the underlying data actually covers.
YouTube, TikTok and Instagram do not expose the same fields. This table shows what is currently available. In the app, the source sits next to each value.

Metrics depend on the platform, account type and permissions. On TikTok and YouTube, Sonventory reaches the video files themselves only through their data portability features, and music can be identified only from those files. Both providers currently list the EEA and the United Kingdom as eligible regions. Access also depends on platform approval, account eligibility, permissions and the files supplied. Outside those regions the connection still works, but music recognition does not run there. The app states this on the affected connection.
Sonventory has no registration, no user database and no server holding your content. The full account is in the privacy policy.

Sonventory shows the result of automatic recognition, the match score and the date. Whether the use is licensed depends on your contracts and the applicable law. The app does not have that information.
That is deliberate. An automated legal review of an individual case would be a legal service under section 2 RDG, which this tool is not allowed to offer. So there are no risk levels in the app, no assessment of warning-letter exposure, and no recommendation to change or delete a post.
What the app delivers is documentation that stands up as evidence. For the legal assessment, turn to your legal department, your licensing office or a lawyer.
Audio that is short, quiet, buried under speech, pitched, sped up, slowed down or re-performed is often not recognised, or recognised wrongly. "No recording detected" is therefore no evidence that a video contains no music and no third-party rights.
Only what exists in the music catalogue can be recognised. Production music, library tracks, original compositions and regional releases are frequently missing from it. The artist, album and label details are likewise catalogue entries as of the time of the query. Who holds the rights is not stated there.
Which videos, which metrics and which comments are reachable at all is decided by YouTube, TikTok and Instagram through their interfaces, including quotas, regional restrictions and changes without notice. If a platform changes what it offers, the feature set changes with it.
A record describes the state at the moment it was collected, and both posts and metrics keep moving after that. So every entry carries a date.

No. Neither the app nor we examine copyright, neighbouring rights, licence terms, platform licences or chains of title. The references you enter yourself are stored, not validated. The app is not able to do that and says so openly. More on this
No, and that is a deliberate decision. A risk assessment of an individual case would be a legal assessment. Sonventory shows instead where your documentation is complete and where something is still missing.
No. Sign-in happens directly with the platform in your system browser; the app never sees your password. It receives a read-only access token, stored in your keychain. Video files are not uploaded to Sonventory. Recognition signatures go to Apple, and sign-in exchanges for TikTok and Instagram pass through our relay.
No. Sonventory receives data only after someone signs in to the account and grants read access. Without that access, the app cannot read the channel.
Yes. The app has no fixed channel limit. You can analyse one client channel or the full portfolio. Your clients must appoint you and allow access to their accounts.
Every recognition carries its match score and the time window that triggered it, and can be listened back to through the link to the video. You can have a video analysed again. On TikTok there is the added point that the platform names a sound for the post itself. The app carries both statements side by side and flags it when they disagree.
It depends on channel size and platform. A large archive can keep the first run busy for several hours. Later runs are quick.
No. Sonventory is a Mac app for macOS 14 or newer, on Apple Silicon and Intel. Other platforms are not currently planned.
German and English. By default the app follows your system language, and you can change it in settings. Numbers, percentages, dates and currencies follow the chosen language too.
Yes, it is your data. The methodology note sits deliberately inside the export itself, as comment lines in the CSV and as its own field in the JSON, so that a figure passed on keeps the caveat that applies to it. Please do not present an export as a licensing or legal opinion; it is not one.
